Head of Warehouse Operations

As Head of Warehouse Operations, you will lead and develop the warehouse organization and hold end-to-end responsibility for warehouse performance, development and future readiness. The role ensures efficiency, accuracy, safety and employee engagement, with a strong focus on KPI-driven management, project leadership and continuous improvement. A key focus is to build and embed a strong performance culture with clear accountability and high standards across the warehouse organization and operations.

You are expected to work collaboratively and proactively to improve processes, systems and cross-functional ways of working.

You will be responsible for operating and continuously developing a newly established, semi-automated warehouse, establishing governance structures, KPI frameworks, systems and routines, and ensuring long-term operational excellence and continued automation.

You will lead a warehouse organization of approximately 30 people, including 2 Team Managers. This role reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer.

Main responsibilities

• Own and define the warehouse KPI structure, targets and performance framework

• Use KPIs as an active management tool to steer priorities, decisions and performance

• Analyze performance trends, identify root causes and drive improvement actions

• Lead, coach and develop Team Managers, setting clear expectations and priorities

• Build a strong performance culture with accountability and continuous improvement

• Ensure a safety-first approach, including clear standards, processes and ways of working.

• Drive process, efficiency and project-based improvements, with a strong focus on automation, scalability, operational excellence and customer experience

• Act as a change leader and role model in adopting new technologies, including automation and AI-driven solutions, driving transformation and cultural adoption across the warehouse organization

• Ensure stable daily operations while continuously developing and optimizing warehouse systems and capabilities

• Evaluate future operating models, including scalability, shift structures and seasonal setup, in line with business development

What you bring

• Proven experience leading warehouse or operations teams through managers

• Strong experience working with KPIs as a steering and decision-making tool

• Solid experience driving project-based improvements, preferably within automation or systems

• Ability to balance stable daily operations with continuous development and change management

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data and insights into concrete actions and measurable results

• Clear, confident communication and a hands-on leadership style with strong ownership

• Strong understanding of safety, standards and compliance as a foundation for efficient operations
